Steve,
I do more KC trading in Oct. than any other month(rarely Nov.), all related
to the start or lack of it for the rainy season.
June-Aug time frame is 2nd on the list tied in with frost scares.
It would be very unusual for me to do anything outside of those times.
There are some years when i might not even trade it because the weather
and set up don't fit. In the last month, I've traded it twice and got lucky.
For instance, on 6/26, with less than 5 minutes
to trade, sold KCU at 154.75 and bought it back less than 1 minute later
at 154.05. It closed on the highs above 155.00 a couple of minutes later.

I do specialize in grains(mainly growing season(s)) and energies (heating season
but also cooling for ng as well as hurricanes).

Trades will often last from a few hours to a couple of days.
They are taken in weather markets when the weather has changed suddenly
to something that requires a quick price readjustment.
