Hi friends at Coffee Traders Forum,

Let me explain the impact of this early flowering in almost every coffee region in Brazil by now. Due to a more define seasons in Brazil, our coffee plantations are away from the Equador line, we are suppose to have an average of three flowerings every year. In a short period of time, basically Sep, Oct and Nov. I guess it's different from Colombia. Also for this reason we harvest our coffee meanwhile in Colombia they pick their coffee. Having a flowering this premature mixed with coffee to be harvest in the same tree is not the best scenario. And it does not matter if one is doing his harvest manually or mechanically, both ways will damage the flower. I want also to mention that been to early flowering will in theory have this beans mature by Jan and Feb when is still rainy season. On more thing, once flowered, that brunch won't flower again in the same season. Just got back from my farm that is located in the heart of Sul de Minas and the situation is the same as in Sao Paulo Mogiana region. I hope this comments will enlighten your view from Brazil coffee plantations. All the best to you all.
